It is my honor to inform you that Crystal Jenkins has been chosen as the RES Employee of the Year! Crystal works tirelessly as a paraprofessional in Child Development in the mornings and as an interventionist in the afternoons helping students with literacy. Thank you, Crystal, for all you do for our students! RES shines brighter because of your willingness to always go above and beyond whatever is needed without ever complaining! We appreciate you! This is a very deserving honor!

Congratulations to Mrs. Dee Lear and Mrs. Denise Davis - the RES ABC employees for May. Mrs. Lear teaches first grade and Mrs. Davis is our cafeteria manager. Both of these ladies are true examples of ABC employees because they go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty every day for our students. Thank you, Mrs. Lear and Mrs. Davis! RES appreciates you!

Kindergarten student, Jonathan Drakeford, has been named the RES Student of the Month for May! Jonathan's teacher, Mrs. Sowell says, "Jonathan is very respectful. He always is on his best behavior by listening and following directions. Jonathan is loved by all of his classmates!" Congratulations to Jonathan on being chosen as Ruby Elementary's May Student of the Month!"

RES is also proud of all the classroom nominations. These students were presented with a certificate and coupon for a free scoop of custard at Highway 55. They are as follows: Gavin Perez, Kailyn Davis, Blair Black, Jaheim Long, Haylee Sellers, Nyzeil Wilson, Jackson Raynor, Johnathon McLoyd, Hannah Turner, Quinton Yanez, Trinity Taylor, Ali Grace Brown, and Carolina Gainey.

Fourth grade student, Harmony Little, has been named the RES Student of the Month for April! Harmony's teacher, Mrs. Stokes says, "Harmony Little is courageous because she is determined to carry on even in the face of a difficult situation or task. She likes to stick with a task until it is completed! She is willing to try new things even when it seems uncertain! She is a role model for other students with her good character and kind heart." Congratulations to Harmony on being chosen Ruby Elementary's April Student of the Month!"

Parents, faculty, staff, and students alike enjoyed first and second grade's spring musical on March 15. We would like to say a special thank you to our wonderful music teachers, Mrs. Wilkerson and Mrs. Privette for working hard to prepare this musical!

Mr. Jimmy Leonard, father of 3rd grader Kaylee Leonard, recently donated a picnic table to Ruby Elementary. "RES appreciates this generous donation from one of our parents. Students and teachers alike will enjoy this picnic table for years to come!", commented Caroline Miles, principal. Thanks, Mr. Leonard!
