Fourth grade student, Nahomy Fajardo-Urbina , has been named the RES Student of the Month for May! Nahomy's teacher, Mrs. Tolson says, "Nahomy is a SUPER SWEET young lady who loves spending time with her friends. She has really worked hard this year in all of her subject areas, especially in reading."  Congratulations to Nahomy on being chosen Ruby Elementary's May Student of the Month! The RES Student of the Month is sponsored by the Chesterfield High School Alumni Association.  Nahomy has been provided a sign to display proudly in his yard during the month of May!

 

RES is also proud of all the classroom nominations. Congratulations to Mrs. Stephenie Huggins and Mrs. Casey Moore - the RES ABC employees for April! Mrs. Huggins is the teacher of the autistic class and Mrs. Moore is our custodian. Both of these employees are true examples of ABC employees because they go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty every day for our students.  Thank you, Mrs. Huggins and Mrs. Moore! RES appreciates you!

Second grade student, Malachi Gulledge , has been named the RES Student of the Month for April! Malachi's teacher, Mrs. Wallace says," Malachi is a very sweet and loving student. He exhibits generosity, kindness, and compassion to others." Congratulations to Malachi on being chosen Ruby Elementary's April Student of the Month! Congratulations to Mrs. Gail Crawford and Mrs. Vanessa Cassidy - the RES ABC employees for March! Mrs. Crawford teaches 5th grade ELA and Social Studies and Mrs. Cassidy is an assistant in kindergarten. Both of these employees are true examples of ABC employees because they go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty every day for our students.  Thank you, Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Cassidy! The 4th graders in Mrs. Tolson's class have been learning about the Solar Sysytem.  They were given a project to complete-- to create a 3-Dimensional model of the Solar System that included the Sun, the 8 planets, Earth's moon, and  other objects out in space.  The students were given 2 weeks to complete their projects and they did an "OUT OF THIS WORLD" job!   Several students created mobiles that can hang from the ceiling.  Several created a diorama out of boxes.  Most of the students created posters using project boards.  Even a few students added real lights to their projects to illuminate the stars in the background.  Mrs. Tolson would like to THANK all of her students and their parents for being creative and having fun while working on their projects!

First grade student, Chandler Blackwell , has been named the RES Student of the Month for March! Chandler's teacher, Mrs. Lear says, "Chandler Blackwell displays excellent citizenship as well as excellent academics in first grade. He is a hard worker and treats his classmates and teacher with love and respect. Chandler is a role model for other students and a joy to teach in first grade." Mrs. Erin Byrd has been named Teacher of the Year for Ruby Elementary! Mrs. Byrd has been teaching nineteen years. She began her career at Edwards Elementary where she taught for seventeen years before joining the RES family. Mrs. Byrd has been teaching at RES for two years. She currently teaches third grade. Principal Caroline Miles says, "Mrs. Byrd is a remarkable educator. She relates well to her students, works hard with her colleagues, and is a team player! Mrs. Byrd goes the extra mile everyday for her students. She truly loves what she does and it absolutely shows. This honor is well deserved!" Congrats, Mrs. Byrd! RES is proud of you!
