5th Grade student, Curtis Gage McLain , has been named the RES Student of the Month for March! Curtis Gage's teacher, Ms. Douglas says, "Curtis is a great Team Player in 5th grade! He listens carefully to other classmates’ ideas and tries to problem solve in every situation. Curtis knows that building a team that works well together is more important than being in charge. He is a fantastic example of the type of person we should all strive to be. Congratulations, Curtis Gage McLain! We are proud of you!" Congratulations to Curtis Gage on being chosen Ruby Elementary's March Student of the Month! The RES Student of the Month is sponsored by the Chesterfield High School Alumni Association. Curtis Gage has been provided a sign to display proudly in his yard during the month of March!



RES is also proud of all the classroom nominations. These students were presented with a certificate and free corn dog from Sonic. They are as follows: August Stancil, Blake Davis, Miranda Hancock, Ashton Cassidy, Olivia Rink, Heidi Hendrix, Skyleigh Robbins, Autumn Angle, Xavier Streater, Shaw Huggins, Johnathon McLoyd, Corbin Poplin, and Jose Vasquez. Congratulations to Mrs. Sara Kay Gainey and Mrs. Erica Myers-McBride- the RES ABC employees for March! Mrs. Gainey teaches 3rd Grade Math and Science and Mrs. Myers-McBride is a classroom instructional assistant. Both of them are true examples of ABC employees because they go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty every day for our students. Thank you, Mrs. Gainey and Mrs. Myers-McBride! RES appreciates you!

First grade celebrated Chinese New Year today with a parade! Our school enjoyed watching the first graders parade around the school. They worked hard creating their dragons, banners, and playing instruments! Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Congratulations to 5th Grade Teacher, Gail Crawford! Mrs. Crawford is the RES Teacher of the Year! Principal Caroline Miles says, "Mrs. Crawford is an excellent teacher. Her quiet and calm nature creates a classroom where children feel comfortable taking risks and asking for help. Mrs. Crawford makes learning fun! She incorporates literature into her classroom that is high interest that the children enjoy. The RES family is fortunate to have Mrs. Crawford as one of our teachers! This is a well deserved honor! Congratulations, Mrs. Crawford!"

Second grade has been learning about voting and making laws as part of their social studies unit. Representative Richie Yow visited the second graders as a special treat to discuss his job. He reminded them that they all are superstars and can do anything they put their heart into. They even got to vote on a law! Thank you Representative Yow for a fun filled morning!
