5th grade G/T students organized and ran a mock election for the 2016 election year. They created a ballot and designed stickers that said I voted. They drew to scale a layout that would allow the lines to properly flow. On "election day," they all acted as well-trained pollsters!! When all voting was completed, the students tallied the results and came up with percentages of the win/loss in each district. They were able to determine who took popular vote as well as electoral vote!
In our mock election at Ruby Elementary School, Donald Trump took both popular and electoral vote in all districts!
